Anyone who has skied for a few years knows that not all runs are created equal. Some are just no good. There are lots of reasons for this : too short, too steep, too flat, too crowded, too many rocks, too icy, and so on. Whatever the reason, you can ski them once (or not) and then cross them off your list. This is part of the fun of learning a Ski Resort, finding the premium runs, and avoiding the dogs. Monarch is no different. Here are a couple runs that we have skied so you don't have to. This is just our opinion of course, your mileage may vary  . ROUNDABOUT. If you are a real beginner, you may be stuck taking Roundabout, but once you can scrape your way down a blue run, you never need to ski Roundabout again. This is the cat track route to the far left, on ski area boundary. It serves some great terrain, but is dead flat for a hundred yards, if the snow is slow, or sticky, you are going to get stuck, no fun! 
Roundabout Run Blues
If you want to ski North Forty, Tele Alley and Liberty, take Romp down. This is a bit of a rowdy blue run, that requires respect. But, you can take a look at it before jumping in. If you do not like the looks of Romp, continue on down Roundabout and do your best to keep your speed up. 
Garfield Goodies - Lower Tango SHEER-ROCKO. At the other end of the spectrum is Sheer-Rocko, otherwise known as the Panorama Lift Line. It looks kind of cool from the lift, but in reality it is packed with monster rocks and steep icy bumps in a narrow slot. And, lots of obnoxious people will be giving you directions and/or catcalls from the lift. Sheer-Rocko otherwise known as Pano Lift LineUnless you are currently starring in ski movies, you cannot ski this run well. Avoid it.  .
