Best Powder Runs PDF Print E-mail

Monarch is known for good powder, and for long lasting powder. It is not hard to find good powder two or three days after a big snow. All it takes is a little hiking, or a even better, a little inside knowledge. On a fresh powder day, a few laps on Outback is a great way to get warmed up. Take Breezeway up, and head left on a short cat track.

Even better, when you have the whole run to yourself. Outback and Shagnasty are both moderate blacks, great runs to hone your powder skills.

Curecanti is another great spot to catch some face shots. It is best to get this early in the morning, as the super south exposure makes the snow set up pretty quickly. Ride Pioneer (slow) up, and head directly left for a short skate. Watch out for that cornice!
