Ski with a Naturalist
Every Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 – March 27, 2015 1pm – 2pm
GARNA is again partnering with Monarch Mountain and the US Forest Service Salida Ranger District to offer locals and resort guests a free on-hill ski naturalist tour. Participants will learn about the history of recreation on Monarch Pass, ski area-USFS partnership, and Monarch’s green mission. The 45 minute tour is FREE for guests and passholders.
Monarch Town Challenge Races
Every Friday, Jan. 9 – Feb. 27, 2015 10am
Monarch Mountain’s Town Challenge is a FUN giant slalom race held on Freeway geared for all ability levels. This is a team race for up to six racers including men and women. The atmosphere is about having a good time, becoming a better skier or rider, and spending time on the mountain with your friends.
Monarch 75th Anniversary Party
Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 4pm – 7pm
75 years young! Join us for a night of celebration and festivities. We’ll be hosting family-friendly activities in the lodge, a special Sidewinders menu, torchlight parade and a spectacular fireworks show. The music begins at 4pm, the torchlight parade with fireworks to follow begins at 6:15pm.
Mountain is closed to all on-mountain traffic after 4:30 pm for safety precautions. (No skiing, snowboarding or uphill travel after 4:30 pm.)

Monarch Kid Fest
Sunday, Apr. 5, 2015 10am – 2pm
A free day of activities for kids 10 and under. Face painting, crafts, butterfly hunt, interactive snow sculptures, kids terrain park challenge, and more!
Monarch Kayaks on Snow
Saturday, Apr. 11, 2015 10am – 2pm
Monarch’s signature event. Contestants race head to head, similar to Skier Cross, down a specially designed course featuring berms, banks, and bumps, ending in an icy pond! This is as fun to watch as it is to race. Great sponsors will be on hand to provide plenty of stoke for this unique event.
Monarch Closing Day Tailgate Party & Cook-off
Sunday, Apr. 12, 2015 10am – 4pm
Celebrate the end of ski season and beginning of whitewater season with our annual parking lot cook-off and tailgate party. Guests are encouraged to whip up their best eats, competing for next year’s season pass among other goodies. Contestants will also be judged on decor and spirit, so spiff up your rig and come on up, snow or shine! This event continues to attract closet chefs from around the region. Bring your appetite!
