If you have a GPS, load it up with this Google earth GPS Map of Monarch Ski and Snowboard Area. If you don't already know about Google Earth, it is VERY cool, worth checking out.
The Snocator? Weird name for a cool product.  The snocator is the ultimate ski and snowboard guide. It has a built-in trail map to Monarch Mountain, with online weather reports and snow reports.
The snocator uses the iPhone's built in GPS unit to tell you where you on the mountain, and this helps you get around easily. Add this to the usual convenience of a cell phone, and you have a great on-mountain tool. One of the nice things about Monarch Mountain is how friendly the terrain is. You are never going to get lost. Just ski downhill and you will always get to the Lodge - there aren't any dead ends or places that require a lift ride to get back. However, the snowcator is such a cool idea that we think it is going to catch on big time. You can be on the cutting edge and get yours now. For now, you must use the Apple iPhone, but it will certainly be ported to other GPS enabled phones soon. The best part : the Snocator is only $1.99 for the 2009 season, buy it from the Apple iTunes store. It also works at almost every other Ski Resort you are likely to visit. In addition to helping you navigate, real-time GPS tracking means that you will have a record of your miles and vertical feet ski statistics for the day. How cool is that?!
