Monarch Ski Area Location

Driving to Monarch is easy on most days, check the current conditions webcams to make sure the Monarch Pass roads are friendly. If the roads are bad, drive partway up the pass to the Monarch Mountain Lodge in Garfield, go in to the restaurant, and have a cup of hot chocolate and a piece of pie. By the time you are done, the snowplows will be through and driving the rest of the way up Monarch Pass will be much easier and safer.

Closest Airport -
Gunnison Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) – semi-regular flights, serving both Crested Butte Ski Area and Monarch Ski Area. From the Gunnison airport, it is about an hour drive up Monarch Pass in good weather, all day in bad weather. Some rental cars and trucks available.
Colorado Springs Airport (COS) - an easy two and half hour drive. The Colorado Springs airport has daily flights in from all over the US.
Denver International Airport (DIA) – about four hours drive. Plenty of daily flights, and lots of other ski areas on the way. Make a week of it and enjoy the Colorado High Country.
