Monarch Ski Guide

Monarch has a super ski and snowboard rental shop, right on the hill. Walk in, get fitted, walk out, put on your skis and glide over to the lifts. Quick and convenient! They offer new ski gear in excellent condition from K2, Volkl and Salomon, with snowboards from Burton.

Another great reason to rent on the hill (as opposed to down in town), is that the staff is right there to help if you have trouble with your gear. 

To rent gear at Monarch : Walk up the prominent metal steps from the parking lot and head straight ahead to the large brown (tan) rounded building, not surprisingly called the Lesson Center and Rental Shop.

Once inside, it gets a little more complex. To your left is a bank of computers, called the kiosk. Stop here, fill out some info on weight, experience, and rental duration.     

Once this boring part is done, go over to the main desk, and pay. Check the rates here.

From here you will get your boots fitted. Put only the right one on, the technicians will need the other one to fit and adjust your bindings. 

After you have your gear rented and adjusted, head out the double doors at the end of the building, click in and slide away. On the way to the exit is a nice side area with benches that is almost always empty and quiet.  This is the perfect spot if you need to adjust stuff, put on layers, have a quick snack, wait for friends, or just rest after the ordeal.
