For convenience, you can’t beat renting your gear at the ski area. But, first thing in the morning, Monarch’s Gear Rental shop can get pretty crowded. Who wants to wait in line while the lifts are running?
There are several great rental shops on your way up Monarch Pass. We recommend stopping by Mt. Shavano Ski and Snowboard Rental Shop for convenient and quick in-and-out service. They are the area’s largest full service ski & snowboard shop closest to Monarch. In addition, they have great prices, well tuned rental gear and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

You can find the shop on the right as you head west out of Poncha Springs on Highway 50 toward Colorado Monarch Pass and Monarch ski area. Continue for about 5 miles beyond Poncha Springs until you see their distinctive A-Frame shop.
